Madelyn was talking about the "black man" (Please don't take offense to that. She calls him that because he is a teenager dressed all in black on Halloween.) trying to scare kids on Halloween.
Madelyn: I don't want to see the black man next Halloween.
Me: Who's the black man?
Madelyn: The man dressed all in black.
Tony: You mean Daddy?
Madelyn: No. The one in the corner.
Tony: Oh, you mean Daddy's protégé.
Madelyn: Why is he your pretty J?
(Tony and I call this kid his protégé jokingly because he was trying to scare trick-or-treaters on Halloween, and he thinks Tony and our yard are really cool. Yes, I did talk to the kid on Halloween. Hehe.)
