The random things we hear when the girls are playing. We have no idea what was going on here:

"Everybody gets a piece of cake! Nobody gets a candy snake!"

During school today, they "wrote" letters to people. Madelyn wrote one that she wanted to send to our neighbor. As soon as Tony got home from work, she insisted on going to deliver it, but she was very concerned about her friend getting the letter. Multiple times she asked, "Are you sure they'll check their mailbox?"

We had told Madelyn last night that we would be making personal pizzas for dinner tonight. After the girls were in bed last night, Tony and I decided that that wouldn't really be feasible with everything we needed to get done and since he would have to stop and get some dough. Instead, Tony was just going to stop and pick up pizza on the way home from work. When I picked the girls up this afternoon:

Me: Oh, Madelyn, we aren't making pizzas tonight for dinner. We won't have time to do it.
Madelyn, panicked: We're not?! But I wanted pizza!
Me: We're still having pizza.
Madelyn, confused: What? Are we going out?
Me: No. Daddy is picking up pizza on the way home.
Madelyn: Oh! Okay!

Somehow during dinner conversation, the word "overflow" was used. Madelyn asked what it meant, so we were giving examples to explain it.

Me: If you were to close the drain on the bathtub and turn the water on and not stop it, the water would spill out of the bathtub. The water would overflow.
Tony: The water would flow over the top of the bathtub.
Me: But don't do that because it would make a big mess.
Tony: And you would have to clean it up.
Madelyn: If the bathtub were alive it should be the one doing the cleaning.

Tony gave Madelyn a new chore to do today.

Tony: Hey, Madelyn, can you go upstairs and get your trashcan and your sister's trashcan so that I can combine all the trash to take it out?
Madelyn, excited and getting ready to run up the stairs: Yeah!!!!

Every night we go through the same thing with Madelyn. She jumps and dances while on her stool brushing her teeth. We tell her to stop, but she keeps doing it. Tonight she may have finally learned her lesson.

Madelyn, bouncing and dancing on her stool while "singing" with the Disney Magic Timer app and brushing her teeth: Do do do!

Suddenly, the stool folded up on her and she started to fall off and onto the floor. She grabbed the sink to try to save herself, but fell onto the floor.

Madelyn, as she fell: I'm okay! I'm okay!

She sat on the floor, still brushing her teeth. I fixed her stool and helped her up.

Me: Now, do you see why we keep telling you to stand still on your stool?
Madelyn: Yeah!

(The whole time, Alyson was watching her like she was crazy and just kept letting Tony brush her teeth.)

Before going over to play with our neighbors:

Madelyn: Since I haven't had any screen time today, I'm going to play with Mei Mei and Lina's Leap Frog when I'm over there.
Me: No, you're not. If you're going over there, you're going over to play with them.
Madelyn: Why can't I?
Me: Because you're going over there to play with them, not their stuff and ignore them.

We picked Madelyn up on our way to the women's basketball game. As she was getting into the car:

Madelyn, excitedly: Mommy, I didn't play with their Leap Frog!
Me: That's good.
Madelyn: Instead, we played with a robot dog, but it wouldn't do what we wanted it to do. We were trying to get it to pee.
