During Healthy Kids Running Series today, the parents were running a mile since it was the last race. The kids hang around and cheer on their parents. I wanted to make sure Madelyn stayed with Alyson and that they cheered us on.
Me to Madelyn: What are the two rules while we're running?
Madelyn: Stick with an adult.
Me: Well, okay, what are the three rules while we're running?
Madelyn: Stick with an adult?
Me: Yup.
Madelyn: Stay with Aly.
Me: Yup.
Madelyn: .... Listen to the adult.
Me: Well, yeah, but I was meaning to cheer on the parents!
Madelyn, looking at me like I was crazy: Oh, okay....
