My mom was taking photos of the girls during dinner. Madelyn was signing "stop" to her because she didn't want anymore photos taken.

During dinner while at Grandma and Grandpa's house:
Madelyn: When will it be dark out?
My mom: In a couple of hours.
Madelyn: Good.
(Someone didn't want to go to bed?)

Two things related to President Obama being in Rockville (we got stuck in road-closure traffic after I picked her up from preschool):
"Do police helicopters have sirens?"
"When I grow up, I'm going to be a police officer and you can build me a police car!"

Tony, to Alyson who was crying after he took away a foam puzzle piece she was chewing: I know, I'm so mean.

While I was fixing dinner, Madelyn felt that it was "time for [my] checkup." When she was through she declared:
"I have a diagnosis. You have stuffed colditis."

She went through this once, but I didn't get it on video, and it was too much to remember. I asked her to tell us again. She was "reading a map" with how to get home from where we went to dinner. The first time was admittedly better, but this was still cute. (Not sure how Alyson was quiet the whole time.)

While in the car Tony and I were quietly talking about Alyson and she started to cry.
"Sister, it's alright. Mommy and Daddy aren't talking about you."
